K. Smith Interiors can be retained either on a full project flat rate basis or hourly rate for consultations. We will meet with you for a consultation, in 2-3 business days we will submit a design proposal with an outline of our understanding of the project and the scope of work to be included. We will collect a 50% deposit as retainer to initiate the contract.

 Our Design Methodology

Design Consultation

We will meet with clients either at their location or our showroom. This consultation allows us to get to know you and your project needs, budget, and timeline.  This time may consist of gathering measurements, acquiring photos of your space for your project, or simply just gathering information on the scope so that we can provide a thorough design proposal/contract. This consultation is the time for you to ask questions and get to know us as well, we want you to know that we are indeed a fit for you, your family, and  your lifestyle.    

Design Concept Development

If you would like to hire us for a specific design service, after a discussion or meeting we will draw up a “Letter of Agreement” which outlines the design scope of the entire interior design project requested, as well as a planned timeline. Upon your approval/acceptance (signature and retainer),  we will then begin the design development process for your particular project.

Client Design Review:

Once the design concept is completed it will be delivered for your review.  You may choose to take the design concepts, floor plans, and other materials, and implement them on your own at your own pace, as well as handle your own purchasing or you can hire us to complete this portion of the project for you.  You may have questions at this point in the process which we are here for you to answer.

Full-Service:

As a full-service design firm, and in partnership with Rite-Loom or one of our professional licensed GC’s, we can take care of your entire project from start to finish. No project is too big or too small. It might be just a bath or kitchen remodel, or it can be a whole house custom build, we can design, specify, order and install, as agreed, for your project.

Purchasing:

This service is offered to clients that don’t have the time to do their own purchasing.  We will submit a preliminary budget for your approval. We will create all of your purchase orders for the design developed as well as negotiate with vendors on the best price for you. Once all purchase orders are completed, the buying process can begin.  We will place the orders for you and coordinate delivery and can be there to set up.

Installation:

Sometimes the most crucial part of a design is the delivery and installation process. If you prefer to have a designer at the job site during delivery and installation we are available for you. We make sure that the process goes smoothly and items are implemented properly within the space. Once everything is finished there is a final walk through between the designer and client of the newly completed space.
