At k. smith interiors, we not only believe in doing what is best for our clients, we are excited to have the opportunity to “give back” and help others thru design. If we can participate to raise money and awareness, we are in!
We have been fortunate in the past to be part of a “women’s build” with Habitat for Humanity. It turns out, I can climb a ladder and I am pretty handy with a nail gun!
We are proud to have been part of the The Art of Design “Take A Seat to End Homelessness” event two years in a row 2016 & 2017, raising almost $300,000 in total for the Illumination Foundation, a fantastic local non-profit that serves OC Homeless families with children.
In 2018, we were asked to participate in a unique event, a “Design Box Challenge” at Fashion Island. Not only did we win the “Peoples Choice Award”, we are thrilled to be part of the talented team of individuals raising money for Miracle for Kids, an OC Charity helping families with critically ill children.
In 2023, we donated design time to Chapman University’s Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics. “We are thrilled to be able to help to refresh this great collaborative space that will be there to launch exciting new business ventures.”

The Tree of Dreams
We were so inspired by the Tree of Dreams event. Truly, the care that the families receive from CHOC, the love and devotion, the support and kindness, and the dedication of the doctors and nurses is nothing less than amazing. As parents we were moved beyond words. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the participants last year and we knew right away we wanted to design a magical tree this year. As an OC native, I believe Disneyland is “the happiest place on earth”, so I purchased a Disney Train last January in anticipation of this. Our hope is that our Disney tree inspires imagination and appeals to the child in all of us. Nothing could be more joyous than the smile on the face of a child the first time they meet Mickey and Minnie, the first time they ride the Matterhorn, or the first time they see Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
